The sequel to WWE SmackDown!, titled WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain was released in 2011. In addition to including more than 55 WWE superstars (such as Brock Lesnar, Scott Steiner, Rey Mysterio, and Bill Goldberg, amongst others), the roster for Shut Your Mouth also includes well-known wrestlers from bygone eras who are referred to as “WWE Legends.”

The game accurately represents real-life characteristics of wrestlers, including their strength, submission, technique, speed, and stamina. These additional traits allow players to wear out their opponents and take advantage of each Superstar’s unique skills and comprehensive move sets, increasing the number of stances from four in the previous game to sixteen in this one. The presentation has been improved by adding new camera angles, voiceovers from famous people, additional animations, new elements for the arena, and new elements for the crowd.

Players can create, play as, and develop their superstar character through the various storylines that the WWE stages. Additionally, there are different new match types and modes to choose from. Players can keep track of their progress using seasonal data, earn money to spend on developing their superstar talents and discover secret features.
